The track team competed on Friday at the Concordia Indoor track meet. The Boys finished 3rd out of 14 teams and the Girls finished 1st out of 14 teams. This is the seventh time in a row that the girls have been crowned Champions of the meet.
On the Boys side there were several athletes that placed and scored points for the team. Adam Hoarty (4th - Long Jump, 4th - High Jump, 2nd - 4x400, 2nd - mile), Chandler Schelkopf (3rd - Pole vault, 1st - 800, 2nd - 4x400), Kole Karcher (4th - mile, 2nd - 4x400), Junior Alcantar (5th - 800, 2nd - 4x800, 2nd - 4x400) Parker Trobridge (2nd 4x800), Gavin Hinrichs (2nd 4x800), Corey Maloley (2nd - 4x800), Ryan Poppert (6th - 3200)
On the Girls side there were several athletes that placed and scored for the team. Jamey Broman (1st - 60, 1st - 200, 2nd - 4x400, 1st - Long Jump), Hallie Thies (4th - 400, 2nd - 4x400, 5th - Long Jump), Sydney Hiatt (5th - 800, 5th - 4x800), Grace Jacobson (1st - mile, 1st - 3200, 2nd - 4x400), Macy Scott (4th - mile, 2nd - 4x400), Lauryn Monteforte (3rd - 3200), Abby Parten (5th - 4x800), Destiny McCaul (5th - 4x800), Sydney Schelkopf (5th - 4x800), Emileigh Kennel (1st - Triple Jump), Alexis Schmidt (1st - Shot Put, 1st - Discus), McKenzie Scheil (2nd - Shot Put).
There were several Meet Records set by the girls, Alexis Schmidt in both the Shot Put and Discus, Grace Jacobson in both the mile and 2-mile, and Jamey Broman in the 60 meter. Alexis also set the School Record in the Shot Put (42 feet, 3.5 inches)
The Track team will be competing next Saturday (March 25th) in Fairbury.
