Mrs. Rohr’s first grade class role-played as surgeons during reading. They were learning about contractions of words and donned gloves, masks, and pretended they were surgeons. They looked at their patients (words) in the waiting room and used surgery (scissors to cut apart the letters of words) and mended their patients (used band-aids) to give the words their new look. It was fun to hear their chatter – (this will only hurt a little bit, I am a doctor, Can I assist you? Do you need help? Oh, no! What is wrong with you? Etc.) They had a fun time and learned how to write contractions!

For this reason, we ask that students stay away from the construction areas at the high school and remain inside the fenced area when attending football games.
