Current 1st through 6th graders are invited to attend Progressive Agriculture Safety Day on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Fillmore County Fairgrounds. Youth will participate in a variety of events designed to help them be aware of safety in potentially hazardous situations in and around rural and agricultural settings, including electricity, disability awareness, chemical look-alikes, a PTO demonstration, etc. NE Extension hosts this event in Fillmore County, along with Shickley and Fillmore Central FFA chapters, 4-H, W.I.F.E. and Fillmore County Emergency Management. Early registration forms and $5 are due April 19th; forms can be downloaded at fillmore.unl.edu. After April 19th, registration is $10/youth. Over $500 donated by FCMS students and staff members to the FFA fundraiser to support flood victims. A lot can be accomplished when we work together.
Due to track conditions in Superior, Saturday's 7th and 8th grade track meet will be held in Deshler. As of now the meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
Fillmore Central Middle School will be collecting monetary donations to benefit Nebraska individuals who have been affected by the recent floods. Middle School students and families are encouraged to make a monetary donation ($1 minimum) toward project "Caring Caps" and may wear a hat to school on Wednesday. Fillmore Central Middle school is excited to announce that Ty Schelkopf, a 7th grader, has qualified for the State Geography Bowl. This is the third consecutive year that Ty will represent FMCS.
Thayer Central has changed the order for the 7th and 8th grade boys basketball games on Saturday, February 9. The new order will be C, 7th, 8th. The C game will begin at 9:00 a.m and others will follow.

ADOPT-A-FAMILY PROJECT The 2018 Adopt-A-Family project was a huge success. Pride group members were asked to bring in non-perishable food items to be donated to Blue Valley. Thayer Central just notified us of a change for tomorrow's 7th and 8th grade volleyball tournament. The 7th grade will play their first game at 11:00 a.m. and the 8th grade may be adjusted. Players will be bringing home an updated bracket and departure time....Go Panthers.

As the Panthers begin another football season we want to be sure all students are safe while cheering on the Panthers. For this reason, we ask that students stay away from the construction areas at the high school and remain inside the fenced area when attending football games. We encourage students to sit in the stands and cheer for the Panthers.
Fillmore Central Schools, along with Exeter-Milligan Schools and Shickley Schools, will have an assembly featuring the band Gooding for students grades 7-12 on Aug. 30th. They are a rock band on a mission to teach students about financial literacy.

Fall 7th and 8th grade practices will begin on Monday, August 20. If your child has not turned in their physical (NSAA form/clearance form) and Medical Release (in the back of the handbook) forms to the office, they will not be allowed to practice.
