For Earth Day, Kindergarten picked up trash around the school yesterday!
York Parks & Recreation is hosting the Central Nebraska Youth Track and Field meet on Friday May 10th beginning at 4:00 PM. Registrations are due May 6th.
Current 1st through 6th graders are invited to attend Progressive Agriculture Safety Day on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Fillmore County Fairgrounds. Youth will participate in a variety of events designed to help them be aware of safety in potentially hazardous situations in and around rural and agricultural settings, including electricity, disability awareness, chemical look-alikes, a PTO demonstration, etc. NE Extension hosts this event in Fillmore County, along with Shickley and Fillmore Central FFA chapters, 4-H, W.I.F.E. and Fillmore County Emergency Management. Early registration forms and $5 are due April 19th; forms can be downloaded at fillmore.unl.edu. After April 19th, registration is $10/youth. KA Wild Monkeys have been learning about weather, spring, plants, and sight words. They compiled all of their knowledge and made a sight word garden to display in the hall what they have been learning.
Once again our students will have the opportunity to participate with the Missoula Children's Theatre.

On, Thursday, March 21, Fillmore Central Elementary First Grade had the opportunity to watch Steve Ozenbaugh, Vice Commander of Ohiowa Legion Post #193 and Marty Seward, Post Commander of Geneva Legion Post #68, demonstrate the correct way of folding a United States Flag.. They also gave interesting facts and answered many, many questions
Kindergarten and 1st grade classes have enjoyed being able to play outside for PE this week!
KA Kindergarten has been collecting markers to be recycled for the Crayola ColorCycle program. They have collected over 200 markers! Anyone can drop off their markers at the elementary school and KA will handle the rest. For more information, you can go to https://www.crayola.com
