1B has spent several days learning about the Solar System. Today we took a look at how far of a distance is between the planets and the sun. They enjoyed having a visual to help them understand how far away Neptune is from the sun!

Mrs. Rohr’s first grade class role-played as surgeons during reading. They were learning about contractions of words and donned gloves, masks, and pretended they were surgeons. They looked at their patients (words) in the waiting room and used surgery (scissors to cut apart the letters of words) and mended their patients (used band-aids) to give the words their new look. It was fun to hear their chatter – (this will only hurt a little bit, I am a doctor, Can I assist you? Do you need help? Oh, no! What is wrong with you? Etc.) They had a fun time and learned how to write contractions!
