The Fillmore Central Players opened their competitive season at the 2019 YHS K-DUB Play Production contest on Saturday, Nov. 9th. The show competed in Division I, & tied for 5th, but ended 6th place on a tie-break. The troupe earned 3 Superior ratings & had 7 outstanding performers recognized.

Our November ICU blitz day was sponsored by Fillmore County Hospital/Touchstone Orthopaedic Care. They donated 10 gift cards to area businesses. To be eligible for the drawing, students had to not be on the ICU list and passing all their classes. Thank you FCH/TOC!

Students in foods and nutrition class practiced preparing Thanksgiving dinner today. They cooked and carved a turkey. The meal was rounded out with stuffing and homemade cranberry sauce. YUM!



There is going to be a short parent meeting for speech on Thursday, Nov 14 at 8:00pm at the high school.
Today the high school and middle school gathered with community members for a Veterans Day Program. A special thank you to the speaker L Wayne Johnson and all those who helped to organize this event. Please thank a veteran today.


Winners of the middle school Red Ribbon Week poster contest were Adilyn M and Adrieonna M. The banners will be displayed in the middle school gym! Congratulations!!


Many FBLA members hit the streets on Halloween to assist local businesses with Scare on the Square. Members were encouraged to wear a simple costume while handing out candy in front of the businesses. Members helped the Chamber serve food at Eddies to the trick or treaters.




On Wednesday, November 6, the 7th grade students attended the Life Skills Sportsmanship rally organized by the Nebraska High School Hall of Fame Foundation and the University of Nebraska Athletic Department at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. The 7th graders were part of over 2,000 students heard inspirational life skills and academic messages from Husker student-athletes and staff, along with attending the UNL women’s basketball game vs Alabama State.

Fillmore Central Education Association (FCEA) is comprised of 41 members across the district. Recently, the group supported the Rotary Club Coat Drive Project with a $300 donation. The group also donated $400 to the Nebraska State Education Association's Childrens' Fund.

There will be an early dismissal on Wednesday, November 6th for teacher professional development. Elementary will dismiss at 1:05, Middle School at 1:20 and High School at 1:35.

Jill Kuzelka from Public Health Solutions is presenting to our MS & HS students on Wed. October 30th. The MS assembly is from 8:30-9:30AM & the HS assembly is from 2:30-3:30PM. Jill is offering a staff session from 3:45-4:30 PM in the HS library – parents are welcome to attend.
