Fillmore Central Public Schools

Recently, Fillmore Central First Grade visited the Lincoln Children's Zoo. They had studied mammals and insects. They got to see many animals, feed the giraffes lettuce, ride the train, pet a snake or a lizard, watch the penguins get fed fish, watch the cheetah race and just have some fun.

First graders have been studying plants in science. After learning about plant parts and life cycles in the classroom, we headed to the FCHS greenhouse for a first-hand look. Students had the hands-on opportunity to plant their own sunflower seeds, which they will bring home once they sprout. A huge thank you to Mr. VanDeWalle and the high school students for hosting us!

Five Fillmore Central Instrumental students attended a 5th grade honor band at Neligh - Oakdale High School on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. Over 100 students from 24 schools participated. Students: Philip, Emmitt, Beau, Harper, and Hayden.
