KA Cute Cows began their unit on Thanksgiving by creating Thankful Turkeys! Each feather has a drawing of what they are thankful for.
The 2024 competitive season of, “The Gift of the Magi” opened at the York K-DUB Play Production competition on Friday, November 8, 2024. The troupe earned fourth place in the small school division. Individuals recognized for their performances included Annika Frook, Ayden Jackson, Evelyn Meyer, Ellie Janing, Peyton Komenda, Haley Taylor, Kendra Lauber and Remington Behmerwohld.
On November 9, 2024 the FC Players traveled to Cross County High School for the Cross County Invite. The troupe earned fourth place. Individual performers that were recognized included Evelyn Meyer, Peyton Komenda, Ayden Jackson, Haley Taylor, Eli Conway, Kendra Lauber and Degan Treinen. Annika Frook was named Outstanding Actress of the overall contest.

Last week all Spanish students learned about the customs and traditions of Day of the Dead. Spanish 3 and 4 students recreated an altar or "ofrenda" to honor deceased loved ones and decorated chocolate or "calaveras."
KA Cute Cows learned about voting. They made voter registration cards and cast their own ballots by voting for a cereal or pancake snack. Pancakes defeated cereal 16-1!

3rd grade had a wonderful day in Lincoln. Our day started with a planetarium show and exploration at Morrill Hall. The College of Education and Human Sciences hosted us for lunch where their high school mentor from last year, Ty, came to surprise them and joined us for lunch. Then we headed to our tour at Memorial Stadium.
2B had some visitors today. Shaun and Jill Hammer (and some animal friends) came to our classroom to talk about Shaun’s job as a taxidermist. The students were very curious and asked great questions.

Mr. Tobias' 7th graders are studying the ancient Sumerian language, known as cuneiform. They created their own unique artwork by writing cuneiform on clay tablets.

Come and be a part of the Fillmore Central Music Program! We are looking for someone to accompany our choir and choir members between 5 and 15 hours a week. This position would run September through early May. Our choir practices daily from 9:10 am to 10:10 am (approximately). Concerts, contests, and preparation for each may increase hours during some weeks. Opportunities to work with middle school choir may be available.
