There will be a two hour late start with alternate bus pick-up and drop-off locations on Tuesday, January 16th. There will be no morning pre-school.
Due to the extreme windchill temperatures forecasted for January 16, 2024 if your child resides in Geneva or Fairmont and typically walks to school, you have the option to arrange for them to be picked up at your house. To make this arrangement, Fairmont residents please call the Middle School office at 402-268-3411, and Geneva residents please call the District Office at 402-759-4955.
Fillmore Central Parents & Guardians,

Due to unfavorable road conditions in the country, our buses will not be able to operate on gravel roads. In order to ensure the safety of our students, we have made alternative pick-up arrangements at the following locations:
1. Ohiowa Auditorium
2. Fillmore Central Middle School (Fairmont)
3. Grafton Post Office
For drop-off, there will be a bus available at both Grafton and Ohiowa at 8:45 a.m. Please note that these buses will depart promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Students who are dropped off at the Middle School will be able to wait inside. The bus will pick them up at 9:20 a.m. and transport them to the Elementary and High School.
In the after-school, shuttles will operate as scheduled. Students who live in rural areas will have the option to be dropped off at the following locations: Fillmore Central Middle School (Fairmont), Grafton Post Office, and the Ohiowa Auditorium; or may be picked up at their respective school building. Buses will arrive at approximately 4:00 pm at the Middle School and Auditorium in Ohiowa and approximately 4:15pm in Grafton at the Post Office.
If you live in the country and are unable to get your child to school or to a pick-up location, please let your school building secretary know.

Middle School Cook
Fillmore Central is currently looking for a Middle School Cook, beginning immediately. Monday – Friday, no evenings or weekends, and summers off. New Wage based on assignment and experience. Must pass a background check. Benefits available include 80% paid BC/BS Single Health Insurance, personal days, paid sick leave, and State Retirement.
Bus Driver
CDL is preferred, but we will pay for training and yearly physical. This position is 178 days a year with 80% paid BC/BS Single Health Insurance, personal days, paid sick leave, State Retirement. Must pass a background check. Multiple routes and activities available August - May.

Mrs. Rohr's first grade class started off 2024 with a hospital/surgeon theme. The "surgeons"-kids reviewed phonics and math skills. The best engaging part of the their day was the activity where they performed contraction surgery. They trimmed away extra letters from the word to make a contraction and used band aids and surgical tape to fix it. Fillmore County Hospital showed and identified kids x-rays, showed them their veins, and listened to their heartbeats with a stethoscope. Fillmore County Extension, Alexis Schmidt gave a presentation on germs and the importance of using soap.
