Mrs. Becker's 1st grade class had a pollination party after learning about bees. Students imitated a bee by buzzing from flower to flower to suck up nectar and pick up pollen. The pollen was then transferred to the next flower. Thank you to Geneva Floral for supplying our flowers to pollinate!

The FC personal finance class went to Friesen Ford of Aurora today to tour the dealership and learn about the car buying process. Louie Soto gave the kids a tour around the dealership. He also pulled vehicle information like sticker information, carfax reports, and other general information and walked the kids through them along with giving some advice about what to look for when buying a new or used vehicle. He then let the kids go out in the lot and opened up some cars for the kids to get in and look at. Thank you so much to Friesen Ford and Louie for providing this opportunity for our students!

The High School Speech Team coached by Mrs. Meyer and Mr. Schwarz performed for the students and staff at the Middle School today. The team did an amazing job performing. They were exuberant and appropriately dramatic in their deliveries and had the crowd rolling with laughter and admiration of their talent! Thank you speech team, we appreciate the time you took to perform for us and we are so proud of how far you've come! Good luck at the state competition!

Today the Fillmore Central personal finance class toured four homes around Geneva. Karla Jacobson of 2Ks Realty guided them through the houses pointing out various different things that they should look at when considering purchasing a home. She offered some pointers and told some cautionary tales in hopes of helping them make smart home buying decisions in the future. She also provided them with lunch!

The fifth and sixth grade class traveled to fairgrounds last week to participate in a STEM day. STEM is a great opportunity to learn more about the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The kids participated in activities highlighting STEM concepts. Thank you to all who volunteered to help students learn more about these potential careers.
