Mrs. Hofferber's Foods and Nutrition students took part in a cookie-making competition! Each group was tasked with coming up with their own unique cookie recipe to be judged by high school staff members! The winners from 5th period were the Shortcakes, and they made a strawberry and white chocolate chip cookie. The winners from 7th period were the Skibiti Slicers, and they made a snickerdoodle cookie!

These four students had the opportunity to attend the Sophomore Pilgrimage in Lincoln today. They got to listen to many high ranking government officials, including the governor. They also got to tour the governor’s mansion and watch legislature in action.

Over the past few weeks, Culinary Skills has been learning about the different types of cakes and cake decorating. Shelley Cruise, who has been professionally decorating cakes for over 40 years, came in to demonstrate cake decorating tips and styles. Students were then tasked with creating their own cakes and designs to recreate in class. They did a wonderful job!

Addison Ekeler
The Fifth Grade class had a special guest to learn more about the Rock Cycle. Wyatt Schiermeyer, an Environmental Geology and Hydrologist spoke to the students and had a few fun experiments as well! Thanks Wyatt and Mrs. Schiermeyer for making rocks fun!
Mrs. Bailey's 6th grade class learned the art of tableau. The students were given a scenario and then created a living picture using facial and body expressions as opposed to words. A lot of fun was had by all!

There will be an early dismissal on Wednesday, April 2nd for professional development. Elementary will be dismissed at 1:05 pm, Middle School at 1:20 pm, and High School at 1:35 pm.

The FC National Honor Society and Student Council is planning a community service give back day for the afternoon of Thursday, April 17th.

Last week Spanish 1 students researched authentic food from Spanish speaking countries. Some students presented with a Google Slides presentation, and other students brought in samples of authentic Latin food. This year students had a bit of a sweet tooth and chose lots of sweet dishes! Some of the food brought in included tres leches, horchata, sopapillas, bañuelos, flan, tamarindo candy, tamarindo-chamoy smoothie, churros, fajitas, and chimichangas.
