Today the Middle School students traveled to the high school to play games with the High School students. Each Middle School Pride was paired with a High School Homeroom. The teams competed in activities such as Dodgeball and Tug-of-war. #FCPantherProwl
The National Honor Society and Student Council held a holiday dress up fundraiser last week. The proceeds from this event were presented to Cheryl Myers to be used to help assemble military care packages.
Fillmore Central 1st grade students learned all about honey through a presentation by the Fillmore County Extension Office. They took a break from testing to explore who makes the honey, how honey is made, and what honey tastes like. The morning started off by learning about the different jobs of honeybees and how they make honey in their hive. Then students made a road map for pollinators and watched “pollen” get spread to many different types of fields by using “bee bots”. Finally, students learned how beekeepers keep safe, what the honey frames look like, and how honey gets processed. Students even watched honey extracted from Extension Office honey frames. They ended the day with a tasty treat by sampling the freshly processed honey.
