Second grade wrapped up physical science by building bridges. We discussed properties of matter, how matter changes, and how engineers choose the best materials for a job. Each group was tasked with building a bridge between desks that were 2 feet apart and then testing how much weight each bridge could hold. We all had a loud and busy science time with awesome results!
Congratulations to Mr. Verhage's homeroom on winning the food drive contest for the third year in a row! They'll receive homemade breakfast sandwiches on Monday. Thank you to everyone that contributed! The FBLA officers will deliver the food collected to local food pantries next Tuesday!

Tomorrow is the final day of the FBLA food drive. PLEASE remind or send your students with any nonperishable food items you can spare to contribute to the food drive as well as help their homeroom win the stack the door contest. The winning homeroom will have a choice of Casey's pizza, Jill's cinnamon rolls, or homemade breakfast sandwiches. Here is an example of a stack the door contest! (we do not use tape :) )

Fillmore Central is currently looking for a Cook at the Elementary, beginning immediately. Monday – Friday, no evenings or weekends, and summers off. New Wage based on assignment and experience. Assistant Custodian – Fillmore Central Middle School in Fairmont
This is a 12-month position with outstanding benefits including full family Health Insurance, State Retirement, Life Insurance, and Paid vacation and Holidays. This position could begin as soon as it is filled. Primary duties will include basic daily cleaning and custodial work. School year hours are approximately 2p.m. – 10p.m. and summer hours are during the day.

The FC Players traveled to Milford on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 to compete in the annual Southern Nebraska Conference Play Production competition. The team was awarded 3rd place for their efforts. Individuals recognized for their efforts include:

The FC Players compete again on November 29, 2023 at the NSAA Class C1-1 Play Production competition at Centennial High School. FC performs at 9:45am.
