Last week FBLA had their annual Money Smart meeting where they heard from community members that have careers that did not require a four year degree. The focus of the Money Smart meeting this year was the importance of trade/non-four year degrees to our community. The speakers offered advantages & disadvantages, life tips, and general tips about joining their profession. The Speakers included: Karla Jacobson-Fortify Group, Terri Wusk- Healing Essentials, Shelbi Palensky- Studio 81, Stephanie Bolken & Tara Rutt- York Dental. Thank you to all of these speakers for taking time out of their night to offer up some useful information and tips.

This week FBLA is sponsoring a food drive. Any non-perishable food can be brought. There are daily prizes for the homeroom with the most food in the daily theme.
Tuesday- Soup Day (any kind of canned soup)

There will be an early dismissal on Friday, November 10th, for State Football Playoff Semi-Finals. The panthers will play at Norfolk Catholic at 6:00pm. Elementary will be dismissed at 2:05, Middle School at 2:20, and High School at 2:35pm. Buses and routes will run accordingly.

Mrs. Patterson's Personal Finance class went to Friesen Ford in Aurora this morning. The class was given a tour of the entire dealership by Adi Friesen including, the service department, the Friesen performance department, the parts department, and storage. After the tour Louie Soto, one of Friesen's Sales Representatives put together an appraisal of Mrs. Patterson's vehicle to show and go over with the students. He also gave the students information on the five cars that they picked, including window stickers, Carfax reports, and loan and retail breakdowns. Louie sat down with the kids and went over some keep points on all of these documents and gave them some tips for what to look for and what to ask when buying a car.
