On Friday, February 24, the Fillmore Central 1st Grade classes took a field trip to Hastings Museum. First, they enjoyed the IMAX movie, Superpower Dogs, about rescue dogs all over the world. Next was a tour of the Kool-Aid exhibit to learn about Edward Perkins, the inventor of Kool-Aid, and life in the early 1900s. This was topped off with mixing their own Kool-Aid drink. After that, the first graders learned about constellations in the night sky and Earth's orbit around the sun. Lastly, the students were entertained by Rusty Rocket and his tour of the planets in the planetarium. It was a fun day of learning!

At the beginning of the school year, FC Elementary students were challenged to earn 9,000 paws throughout the year. They met this goal IN FEBRUARY! Way to go FCES! 🐾
As a reward for meeting their goal they participated in 'Minute To Win It' events on Tuesday morning!

Jenni Hoarty visited the elementary school for another edition of "What's On Your Fork?" Today she spoke about cranberries and the students learned several interesting facts about them and what healthy snacks to make with them.

If you support Fillmore Central FFA and are involved in their success, let them show their appreciation! The annual Appreciation Breakfast is this Thursday, February 23. Park on the east side of the high school and enter door H8 to enjoy pancakes and sausage, cooked and served by our FFA members. They will be serving from 7:00 am - 8:00 am.

Sarah lost her first round match 8-1, and will have to battle back for a chance at a medal.
BOYS
Travis - won his first match 17-1 and lost the second 7-2.
Dylan - lost his first match 5-2.
Alex - won both matches, 20-5 and 10-3.
Aiden - won both matches, 7-1 and pin in 5:27.
Treven - won his first match by pin in 3:10 and lost his second match, 2-0.
Jackson - won both matches by pin, 2:46 and 0:39.
Markey - won both matches by pin, 3:52 and 5:59.
Everyone is still alive. Alex, Aiden, Jackson and Markey have all earned spots in tonight's semi-final matches. The team is currently in second place overall.
