Congratulations to the Fillmore Central Mock Trial team as they have qualified for this year's state competition in Omaha. Fillmore Central competed against Norris and Lincoln Pius, respectively. This marks the 4th time in 5 years that Fillmore Central mock trial has qualified for state. State will be held on Monday, December 5th and Tuesday, December 6th in Omaha.

Today some FBLA officers/members took the food collected in last week's food drive to the free food pantry outside of the United Methodist Church, Blue Valley, and The Christmas Store. #FCPantherProwl

Last week the high school had a food drive competition amongst the homerooms. There were daily themes and prizes Monday-Thursday. On November 10th, Mrs. Patterson had some bankers come to her classroom to give the students a more well rounded view of the house buying process. These bankers included Jan Stoldorf of Heartland Bank, Ashley Hughes of Cornerstone Bank, Karrie Waldron and Marcus Ruhl of York State Bank. These bankers showed the students what part of the financial side of buying a house looks like and also offered up some of their personal experiences in hopes that the students wouldn't make the same mistakes.

Mrs. Patterson took her personal finance students on a tour of some local houses for sale on November 9th. This could not have been done without the help of Karla Jacobson, Fortify Group, and the home owners. The goal of the house tour was for students to get a look at the home buying process, see what different values of homes can offer, and get an idea of what to look for when choosing a home.
